The SG style guitars are some of the greatest guitars ever made. In the year 1961, these instruments were originally intended to bring in a new style to the Les Paul line, but without the approval of LP, they were renamed as SG in the year 1963.

The guitar possesses a rather twin horn body that gives the SG excellent access to the higher frets on the fret board. The mahogany body provides the guitar with a good weight and counters the SG tendency towards the neck heaviness, but the guitar is not too heavy overall on the strap. Features:

The rosewood fretboard is dark and has medium fat round profile frets that are scrupulously polished and finished in perfection. This SG Style SG-TWR guitar has maple neck, Rosewood fingerboard and chrome hardware. And for the controls, it has two humbucker pickups, two volume and two tone controls. The nut is black plastic and has been done in a very tidy way.

Action:

The action is quite good from the box, but the shorter scale makes it easier to fret the strings in any case.

Verdict:

A guitar of this nature sells itself on the reputation of the far more expensive model upon which it models itself. As such, the buying decision hinges on the looks and price. The price tag on the guitar is definitely acceptable and the looks are about 95% SG. The sound and action is pretty decent too. So, if you fancy owning an SG, but your bank balance is quite harsh, then the Rockburn SG Style Electric Guitar is the ideal choice.
