Inspired by Gibson SG:
The Wesley Vermont has taken its styling inspiration from the early 1060’s and to be very particular, the Gibson SG. This is a very popular model of the solid bodied electric guitars which broke through the traditional myths of the solid body electrics and became a classic quite instantly. It is one of the nicest guitars to wear on strap offering you with a lovely comfortable instrument that is great to play with, sitting or standing. The guitar has been finely balanced with a very slim body. It is prone to atmospherics and needs a good period to acclimatise with the temperature changes. Once this is done, the guitar stays well in tune and would gig well from then on.
Maintains the classics:
The Vermont Vintage Cherry Burst EL240rd has all the classic elements of the SG like solid alder body with a dove tail joint set neck joined at the 19th fret, 22 frets, rose wood fingerboard, dual humbucker pickups and separate controls for volume and tone. The Cherry lacquer is excellent and makes a great looking instrument contrasting with the chrome hardware and black scratch plate. The cherry burst finishing of the guitar is simply an icing over the already very tasty cake. The curves and chamfers are spot on. The Wesley’s neck is cleanly fitted. The paint job is superb all over with not a blemish in the gorgeous cherry paint.
Dove tail neck joint:
The dovetail joint is extremely strong because of the way the tails and pins are shaped. This makes it difficult to pull the joint apart and virtually impossible when glue is added.
Body, control and parts:
The metal button grovers, locking tuners and their chrominess is matched by the massive tailpiece assembly, the shiny strap locks, the equally dazzling pickups and even that trapezoidal cover that the Wesley Vermont Vintage has between the neck and the neck pickup. The volume control pots are of the push – pull type, the coil tapped humbuck tones and the volume controls are completely independent unlike the other electric guitars that are interactive. An output jack is in the front of the body and behind the controls. You will be able to find two tiny strap buttons fitted, one is available in the base of the body and yet another one will be on the back, at the heel.
Quality and playability:
The maple dove tail set neck offers a highly improved sustainability. The slim tampered design of the neck makes it comfortable to be held and proves to be an ideal guitar for the players who prefer a slimmer neck profile. The shiny black lacquer that covers the body also extends up the neck and onto the headstock. The rosewood fretboard has a lovely stripey grain and the classic trapezoid “crown” inlay in pearloid. The fretboard and the ends of the frets are bound in antiqued white binding.
Action:
The 22 square profiled frets of the guitar are extremely well polished and offers you with a fantastic playing experience. The action is good and low from the box and requires no adjustment. All the above mentioned features of this electric guitar makes it the best choice for all types of playing styles from blues to rock and metal.
Sound Quality:
Sound of the Wesley Vermont Vintage is above its price range. There is a very nice crispness to the bridge pickup and a heavier but quieter tone from the neck.
The package:
The package of the Wesley Vermont Cherry Burst Electric Guitar includes a 2.5mm guitar cable, an amplifier is not included though.
Verdict:
Wesley Vermont Vintage Cherry Burst Electric Guitar looks fabulous and is worth the money for that alone. Its great style and action makes it best suited for all kinds of guitarists. We certainly recommend this product.
